Fares Review – 19th July 2026
From Sunday 19 July 2026, we will be making changes to some of our fares and period products.
This review applies to both Town fares and Network fares. It is a targeted update to our existing fare structure, rather than a major restructuring of our fares.
We regularly review our fares to make sure they remain fair, simple and sustainable, while helping us continue to operate local bus services across Ipswich and the surrounding area.
We have worked to keep increases to our most used fares as low as possible. Several fares will remain unchanged, and day, multi-journey and period tickets will continue to offer the best value for customers who travel regularly.
Ipswich Buses continues to offer good-value fares when compared with many other operators, with our key fares remaining competitive locally and nationally.

Why are fares changing?
The cost of operating bus services continues to rise, including fuel, vehicle, maintenance, insurance and staffing costs.
This fare review helps us respond to those pressures while keeping fares as affordable as possible and maintaining a simple, consistent ticket range for customers.
The review is targeted, not a major restructure, and some fares remain unchanged. Day, multi-journey and period tickets continue to offer better value for customers who travel regularly.
